Poe Dolcetto
These grapes are from Split Rock Ranch vineyard in Mendocino County, California. When Samantha first visited Split Rock Ranch to see the rows of organic Grenache that would go into the Poe rosé, she fill in love with the old vine Dolcetto. When she tasted the grapes, she was intrigued by the intense flavors of blueberry, plum, and strawberry - the fruit had bright acidity and crunchy tannin. She and her husband (label designer, Michael McDermott) have enjoyed Italian Dolcetto for years and were excited to make a California version from this beautiful, family-owned, dry-farmed, and organic vineyard.
